About Me... The Sam in Samramics

I’m Sam, the owner of Samramics and the maker behind all the ceramics you’ll find here. I work from my home studio in Berkshire, where I spend my days making pottery, experimenting with glazes and coming up with new ideas, usually with my two cats, Bear and Butter, close by (or getting in the way!).

I graduated from university in 2022 with a degree in Architecture, but I was looking for something a bit more creative and hands on. I always loved the model-making side of my degree, so I think ceramics was a natural next step!
I love being able to make things with my hands, experiment with different colours and glazes, and come up with all sorts of weird and wonderful ideas.

One of my favourite things about ceramics is getting to make silly little things just because I can!
I love creating quirky figures and tiny characters, from worms in cowboy hats to all sorts of odd little creatures. These pieces are a chance to have fun, not take things too seriously, and make things that hopefully bring a smile to someone’s face.

Alongside making my silly figures, I also love throwing on the pottery wheel.
There’s something really satisfying about starting with a lump of clay and slowly turning it into something useful. I love playing around with different shapes, textures and glazes, and seeing how each piece turns out. No two pieces are ever quite the same, which is part of what makes it so fun!
